Let me just start this blog by wishing everyone a Happy New Year. Since I have terrible to my blog and haven't written lately, I hoping this will start the year off on the right foot. SO, I hope everyone out there had a great holiday and is full of happy thoughts as we head into the new year. And as we head into the future, let's reflect on old adventures and hope for new ones.
Old Adventures: 2008 was a pretty good year. The year includes graduation, new jobs, and minimal tragedies. I'd like to think of it as the Year of Lucky Chances. I say this because most people I know were faced with life changing events and so far everything has gone smoothly. Or it could be the year of busy nights. I say this because most people I know these days are pregnant. I'm not sure what happened this summer, but obviously the weather was just warm enough to have some fun.
New Adventures: 2009-The biggest adventures Skye and I are embarking on is, of course, welcoming little miss Carolina to the world sometime in March. So far that adventure has been a mixed blessing. Where I'm thrilled to be pregnant, the side effects are less then charming. I could handle just about everything except the recycling of food I appear to be so fond of these days. (By the way, Carolina and I did manage to kept down both dumpling soup and Danish sausage over Christmas. This proves she is my child and she can behave when the pressure's on.)
This recycling has interfered with many a projects these days. The nursery is not done and there seems to be a variety of household projects in constant motion around the house. I awoke today with renewed energy and a list of projects only to be taken down over breakfast. So away with the list and back to bed. But at least in bed I can count baby kicks and remember why I volunteered for this in the first place.
So if anyone is looking for a new adventure, head south. The weather is warm, there is no snow, and all the food is fried. There's a messy, but open guest room and I will only make you do one household chore a day. Happy New Year.

Hey girl,
Sorry to hear your pregnancy has not been filled with good health! I count my blessings that I've not had a day of morning sickness...
Don't fret too much. The nursery will get done (maybe Peggy will need to come for a visit). Mom's tend to make everything better!
